TWIN PEAKS OF TOURISM OFFERED TO 'BLUE CHIP' GUESTS

Document Actions
Two hotels in the North East of England are to combine forces in an effort to drum up a special type of visitor.

Gisborough Hall and Linden Hall Hotels are at opposite ends of the North East region, one in Tees Valley the other in Northumberland.

They're working together with help of the respective tourism partnerships - Tees Valley Tourism and Northumberland Tourism - to target higher spending groups of visitors.

Coordinated by Corbridge based tourism specialists Steve Reed Tourism and with the support of Regional Development Agency ONE North East, the hotels will be the twin bases for a unique 'Blue Chip Showcase' event in November (12th - 14th) this year.  The event will invite the participation of tour operators and group travel organisers from around the UK including some from overseas.

Michael Bell, Business Development Manager for Macdonald Hotel Gisborough Hall said:  "Linden Hall and ourselves here in Tees Valley are similar hotels and we are  jointly offering a welcome to group travellers seeking what might be described as a premium visit to our region.

They'll see contrasting areas of the North East, take in top attractions such as the Alnwick Garden and Hartlepool's Maritime Experience and generally see the very best of our region - encouraging them to bring what the American's call 'up-scale business' back to our area,'
